SCARCITY MINDSET

Updated: Apr 8, 2020

What happens to our minds when we feel we have too little? How does the context of scarcity shape our choices and our behaviors? It is certainly no secret that your mindset can radically alter your life journey. Overwhelming research on mindset shows that the way you think about yourself, and the world around, you changes the way you learn, handle stress, create success, your levels of resilience, and even how your immune system functions. In life we can choose to see the world filled with abundance or scarcity.

A scarcity mindset is the belief that there will never be enough — whether it's money, food, work or something else entirely — and as a result, your actions and thoughts stem from a place of lack. It orients us automatically and powerfully towards unfulfilled needs. Meaning we are always aware of what we do not have enough of, the needs we do not have fulfilled and all the “wants” in our lives.

An abundance mindset unlocks a world of generosity, gratitude and fulfillment. An abundance mindset allows you to react and interpret the world from a place of fulfillment, believing there really is enough for everyone and you really do have enough. The secret to having it all, is believing you already do.

As you reframe your mindset from scarcity to abundance, your emotions and actions shift: from resentment to happiness, resistance to welcoming change, from reactive actions to proactive actions and from knowledge to learning and growth.

The powerful thing is you can choose your mindset and perspective - you ultimately have the choice of how you will experience your life journey. Choose wisely.
